Peter Corroon, chairman of the Utah Democratic Party; JoAnn Seghini, Midvale City mayor; Jerald Hanten, Knights of Columbus State Deputy; and Albert Malloy pray the Divine Mercy chaplet during a Divine Mercy Sunday service at Saint Thomas More Parish. The service began with recitation of the rosary; music was provided by Vince Clark and Melinda Kirigin-Voss. St. Thomas More parishioner Greg Werking gave the history of Divine Mercy Sunday, and Phil Hofstetter followed with “Moments of Great Decision,” emphasizing Werking’s talk about the basics of Divine Mercy: 1) Ask for God’s Mercy and it will be granted – Catholics must be obedient to God and the teachings of the Church. 2) Be merciful – Catholics must learn to pick up their crosses and help their fellow man. 3) Complete trust in God – Divine Mercy is loving God and following his commandments.
