Dominicans mark 800 years

The Dominican community at Saint Catherine of Siena Newman Center in Salt Lake City marked the 800 anniversary of their order's founding with a Dominican Rite Mass on Nov. 8, followed the next night with a special presentation on Dominican charisms by Fr. Serge Propst, a member of the Dominican Preaching band. Other special speakers will be brought in throughout the year, said Dominican Father Peter Hannah, the parish's associate pastor, who presided at the Mass.
