Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Emily Ann Watkins, of Willard, Utah, passed away on Feb. 10, 2017. She was born on Oct. 18, 1934, to Frederich and Ena Elizabeth Delaney Herbst in Rockaway Beach, N.Y. She worked as a bookkeeper for Chase Manhattan Bank and later as an office manager for her husband’s dental office in Arizona and in Utah.

She loved to dance with the North Ogden Senior Center Ladies, but the most important thing to her was her family. Emily was an active member of the Catholic Church and was active in prayer group.

Emily is survived by her children, John J. Cox, Kathleen M. Bennion, Patti (Robert) DeFries, Chris (Mike) Godinez, Carol (Pat) Watkins, Debbie Hines and Bruce Watkins; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brother, Lawrence Herbst, Sr.; her sister, Viola Herbst; and many lovely nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Eugene M. Cox and Dr. Wilford O. Watkins; a special sister, Idella; and little Emmie.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Feb. 25 at St. James the Just Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the St. James Parish Building Fund.
