SALT LAKE CITY — Ernest Michael Fontana, 92, passed away on Oct. 18, 2013. Fontana was born on May 21, 1921 in Cleveland, Ohio to Amedeo Fontana and Anna Zibrosky. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17. While serving, he completed his high school diploma and received his electrical engineering degree. He spent 20 years in the Navy. He married Helen Elizabeth Douton on Aug. 2, 1946 in New London, Conn. Fontana is survived by six children: Bunny (Mick) Morgan, Ronnie (Ray) Miller, Ernest Jr. "Buzz" (Georgia) Fontana, Andy "Speedy" (Kathie) Fontana, David (Natalie) Fontana, and Nancy (Lee) Hess; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were celebrated at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park Chapel.
