Filberto Montoya

Filberto Montoya, 83, passed away on Jan. 14, 2017 at his home.
He was born June 7, 1933 in Cebolla, N.M. to Alfredo Montoya and Genevieve Aaragon.
He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
On June 14, 1955, Filberto married Ufelia Garcia in Park View, N.M.. They also lived in Layton and Ogden.
He was a member of St. Mary Parish.
Filberto enjoyed working outside, helping his family and playing cards with his wife.
He is survived by his wife; their children, Julio (Anna Fay), Paul (Shauna), Jennifer (Anthony), all of Ogden; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Chris Montoya, Frank Montoya; and one sister, Rosa Sanchez. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; three children, Nathan Montoya, Cindy Aguilar, Joe Montoya; four brothers, Manuel, Alfredo, Fred, Eliseo; and three sisters, Carlotta, Silvania and Elsida.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Symbii, specifically Tyler Sedgwick, for the compassion and care provided to our Dad.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on Jan. 21 at St. Mary Catholic Church.
