Florence Plott Thomas

SANDY — Florence "Bauma" Plott Thomas, 92, died May 12.

Thomas was born Dec. 28, 1915, to James and Jennie Long Markey. She was one of 18 children, and lived in Murray and Holladay for most of her life. She married Joseph Plott, and they had one daughter, Lynne. Plott died in 1951. She married Armand Thomas Oct. 18, 1976, and he died in 1997. She worked hard her entire life. In 1976, she retired from Standard Oil/Chevron after 22 years. She loved gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She was elegant, refined, and a true lady.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynne Depalma; granddaughters, Wendi (Helen) Sorensen, Kimberlee Brown, and Nena Cook; great-grandchildren, Karissa Brown, Reil Brown, Parker Brown, Gabriella Brown, Stuart Ames, and Simon Ames; sister, Evelyn (John) Ward; grandchildren and great-grandchildren from her marriage with Thomas, Patty (Bruce) Miller, Craig (Wendy) Thomas, Stephanie (Tom Scharlow) Saint-Thomas, Alex (Jennifer) Thomas, Ryan (Carrie) Miller, Daphne Miller, and Tessa Miller.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Thomas More Catholic Church.
