Bishop of Salt Lake City

Last Friday we celebrated another successful annual Founders' Day Mass at Kearns-Saint Ann School. Father Sciumbato, Deacon Mansueto Flaim, Mrs. Kathleen McMahon and many of our sisters were on hand to ensure a wonderful celebration complete with a beautiful Eucharist followed by a hot lunch for the entire student body, courtesy of many of our dedicated parents.  Each year we come together this way to express our gratitude to the Kearns and McCarthey families for their exceptional generosity to this wonderful school. Senator Thomas Kearns and his wife, Jennie, donated their home that became Kearns-St. Ann Orphanage and subsequently the current Kearns-St. Ann School. The McCartheys continue to support the school with their ongoing concern and generosity. I am grateful to them for all they do for this superb school. Special thanks again to the Sisters of the Holy Cross, who have given so much to the children of St. Ann's, both when it was an orphanage and now as an elementary school.
