Fr. Lourduraj Gally Gregory is congratulated July 31 by Deacon George Reade after receiving his certificate for completion of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at the George E. Wahlen U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salt Lake City. Fr. Gally, pastoral vicar of St. Ambrose Parish in Salt Lake City, completed his hands-on training in pastoral ministry with 12 other students from diverse religious backgrounds at the VA Medical Center’s newly introduced CPE program for hospital chaplaincy. Originally of the Diocese of Chingleput in southern India, Fr. Gally expressed his thanks for the support he received locally in his study for chaplain certification. "In looking back on this deep, personal experience to minister to God’s people, I thank my fellow students and instructors, Msgr. J. Terrence Fitzgerald, Vicar General of the Diocese of Salt Lake City for his strong support, and Fr. Bill Wheaton, pastor of St. Ambrose Parish for giving me the opportunity to complete this training." IC photo by Christopher Gray
