SALT LAKE CITY — George Howa, 71, passed away May 8, 2012.

Howa was born March 26, 1941 in Dibbel, Lebanon to Samuel and Mariam Howa. He served as a medic in the U.S. Army for two years.

Howa was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Abe, Ron and Michael Howa; sister Anne Hill; and nephews Shawn and Sherid Howa.

Howa is survived by his brothers, Ray (Dorothy) Howa and Fred (Becky) Howa; brother-in-law Wayne Hill and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Jude Maronite Catholic Church.
