Helen Burritt Davies

SANTA FE, N.M. — Helen Burritt Davies died July 20, in her sleep 16 days before her 94th birthday. She is the mother of Deacon Denny Davies of Christ the King Parish, Cedar City.

Davies moved to Santa Fe, N.M., in 1935 from Frankville, N.Y., where she met and married Jerry Davies, her husband of 55 years. They were members of Christo Rey Church in Santa Fe. Davies was a wonderful mother, who at one time had six children under age 5. She had two sets of twins in less than four years. She was an accomplished artist, doll maker, and creator of miniature structures including a sanctuary, altar, and retablo patterned after the Catholic Church at Laguna Pueblo, N.M.

She is survived by her six children; nine brothers and sisters; 30 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was celebrated in Santa Fe. Her remains were interred at Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe.
