SALT LAKE CITY — Helen McLernon Banchero, 73, passed away March 17, 2012 of lung disease.

Banchero was born in 1938 in Philadelphia, Penn., with twin sister Isabella. She worked for 35 years at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Salt Lake City, much of it as the head nurse in the intensive care unit.

Banchero is survived by four daughters: Angela (Bill) Kelleher, Stephanie Banchero, Victoria (Matthew) Topham, and Roseanne (Greg) Adcock; a grandson; and her sister Isabella.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary (Nicholls) McLernon; two brothers, Andrew and John; and a sister, Roseanne.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church.
