SANDY - American Fork author M'Lin Rowley visited Blessed Sacrament School, Sandy, Feb. 23. Rowley has signed a national book deal to write 10 books for her series, Knights of Right. She is a senior at American Fork High School in American Fork.

Rowley has two books currently in publication, "The Falcon Shield" and "The Silver Coat." "Her third and fourth books will be available at bookstores April 8," said Sonia West, Blessed Sacrament advancement director.

Rowley made two presentations at Blessed Sacrament School. The first session was geared toward the 1st through 4th grades. The students were able to go on quests for what was right and enjoyed a jousting session.

The second presentation was designed especially for 5th through 8th grades. Rowley spoke about how she began to write, where she gets her ideas and the fundamentals of being a good writer. "Her creative presentation was fun and the repetition of the main points on how to write was a good learning experience for the students," said West.

West said although her books are written for readers in the 1st through 4th grades, the messages contained are important and appeal to readers of all ages. "Each obstacle that the main characters overcome is a challenge with which our students can be confronted," said West. "It is important for students to know how to stand up for what is right and to be able to make good choices in their lives."

After a question and answer period, Rowley spent time signing books.
