Sister Josephine Marie, CSC died in peace at the age of 95 at Saint Mary’s Convent, Notre Dame, Ind. on Dec. 2, 2015. 

Josephine Victoria Mariano was born Jun 6, 1920. She made her profession Feb. 2, 1941.

As a Sister of the Holy Cross, Sr. Josephine Marie served for more than nine years as a teacher at Judge Memorial Catholic High School, three years as a teacher at St. Mary of the Wasatch, and many more years as a teacher, volunteer, Institute Director and social worker at various schools and organizations in California and Indiana.

The Mass of Resurrection was celebrated Dec. 7 in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at St. Mary’s. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of the Holy Cross Ministry With the Poor Fund, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, IN 46556.
