Intermountain Catholic subscription drive underway

SALT LAKE CITY — Each October, the Intermountain Catholic undertakes a drive to remind readers to renew their subscriptions and encourage others to subscribe for the first time.

The Intermountain Catholic is the official newspaper for the Diocese of Salt Lake City; we also are the only Catholic newspaper in Utah. These pages are your sole source for regular news about your fellow Catholics and the doings of the diocese – our bishop, our parishes, our Catholic schools and the diocese offices themselves.

In addition, Bishop John C. Wester’s Tuesday Tapestry blog is found exclusively on the Intermountain Catholic website, www.icatholic.org, and our new Facebook page is full of photo albums as well as links to national and worldwide Catholic news.

This October, we are offering a drawing with various prizes for those who pay for a year’s subscription.

The grand prize is a round of golf with Bishop Wester and two friends of the winner’s choosing. Second prize is a case of assorted wines from Kiler Grove Winery, and third prize is four passes to the annual Christmas carol service at the Cathedral of the Madeleine.

We also are offering prizes to the parishes. The parish with the highest percentage of parishioner-paid subscriptions per number of families in the parish will win a front-page feature article in the Intermountain Catholic. The parish with the highest percentage of new parishioner-paid subscriptions, compared to last year, will receive a quarter-page color ad in the Intermountain Catholic, to be used at the pastor’s discretion. The parish with the highest total number of parishioner-paid subscriptions will win 10 tickets to the 2013 Judge/Juan Diego football game as well as two reserved parking spaces and attendance at the tailgate reception, to be distributed at the pastor’s discretion.

All parishioner-paid subscriptions will be entered into the individual drawing, and also will be counted in the parish’s total. Those who have already sent in their subscriptions will be included, as well, as long as the Intermountain Catholic office has been informed of payment by the parish, or if the payment was sent directly to our office.
