Catholic schools give a high level of service by giving and supporting their local communities. J.E. Cosgriff Memorial School is no different. Every day, the Cosgriff staff is teaching their students to be good stewards within the community and the world. During the month of November, students will be collecting cans of food and other non-perishable food items to create Thanksgiving food baskets for St. Patrick’s parishioners in need. In addition, students have been asked to discover ways they can earn money by doing jobs around their homes and neighborhoods in an effort to purchase gift cards. The gift cards will also be included in the baskets. The goal of the project is to create 35 Thanksgiving baskets. Also this month, Cosgriff students will honor veterans by creating cards and writing letters to our local servicemen. The student council will also host a bake sale and the proceeds will be donated to the Veteran’s Rehabilitation Fund.

Community support and stewardship is an important part of a student’s education at Cosgriff. Each month, the students identify local partners and work with them to collect items and goods to donate to those in need.
