SALT LAKE CITY — Jean Klimaj, 90, passed away on July 19, 2012.

Klimaj was born to Wladyslaw and Mary Gawel on Dec. 11, 1921 in Wilmington, Del. She married Bernard M. Klimaj. She moved to Salt Lake City in 1988 and became very active in the Sandy Senior Center and was part of the "Originals." She was a devoted member of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She happily crocheted countless scarves for the homeless shelter.

Klimaj is survived by children Bernard (Eileen), Maryann (James) Nicol, Robert (Sue); four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and three brothers.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Holy Apostle Catholic Church in Cranston, R.I.
