SALT LAKE CITY — John J. McGurk, 92, passed away on Sept. 12, 2011. McGurk was born in the Bronx, NY to Michael McGurk and Catherine McDonough. He served in World War II as a sergeant in the Quartermaster Core. He married Barbara Smith in 1945. McGurk is survived by his wife, Barbara; children Patricia McGurk, Terry (Mike) McKone, John (Sharon) McGurk and Mike (Daina) McGurk; five grandchildren, and nine great- grandchildren. McGurk was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Moy and niece Anne Moy. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Ann Catholic Church.
