Salt lake city — John Stephen Moenich, 93, passed away Feb. 2, 2013. Moenich was born Dec. 26, 1919, to John and Antonia Moenich. He was a turret gunner and flight mechanic during World War II in the Army Air Force, and a mechanical engineer with a degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He married Valerie in 1951. John was a member of Saint Ambrose Catholic Church. Moenich is survived by wife Valerie, daughter Christine, son-in-law George, two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services and interment will be private.
