SALT LAKE CITY — Joseph J. Shool, 96, passed away Oct. 13, 2012. Joseph J. Shool was born on Nov. 15, 1915 in Portland Ore., to Bolos and Martha Shool. As a boy he loved singing in the youth choir and sometimes he had the pleasure of singing at the Cathedral of the Madeleine. He was also an altar boy and had a deep love for Catholicism throughout his life and expressed that love with a helpful hand and through charity. Joe attended Judge Memorial Catholic High School. He married Ruth Pia (Ruthie). After she passed from cancer he married Mary Malouf. Shool is survived by Florence Halliday, Susie Martin and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Shool was preceded in death by his mother and father; brother Ben; sister Helen, Alice and Dorothy. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church.
