Every three or four months different members of the Knights of Columbus gather at my residence for a meal and camaraderie. Several Fridays ago we had one such meal and it turned out to be very enjoyable, as usual. I am deeply impressed with all that the Knights do for our diocese. They are truly a selfless group of men who are dedicated to our Church and the mission of the Gospel. I look forward to the end of the month when I will be initiated into the Fourth Degree. It is an honor to be part of such a distinguished group of individuals.
Speaking of the Knights, Ray Lopez, our state deputy, and several other Knights took me fishing at Flaming Gorge Reservoir last Monday. What a beautiful part of our state. I finally caught a fish in Utah! It was a long time in coming but worth the wait. Jerry Hanten’s son-in-law, Nick Teynor, taught several of us how to fly fish. Nick works out of Western Rivers Flyfisher in Salt Lake City. I think I have a way to go before I'm a threat to the trout population but I sure enjoyed learning. Thanks to my fellow fishermen for a great time!
