I am pleased to see that the Southwest Liturgical Conference Study Week in Denver was recognized in the Jan. 30 issue of the Intermountain Catholic. Although I am humbled and honored to have received the SWLC’s 2009 Faithful Servant Award, it is with deep regret that I note that the photo and article acknowledge only two of the recipients, noted author, poet, and hymn text composer Sister Genevieve Glen, OSB, of St. Walburga Abbey, Virginia Dale, CO, and myself. It is unfortunate that any mention of the third recipient, Betsy Bumgarner of Albuquerque, NM was inadvertently omitted. Betsy too was honored for her many years of dedicated ministry in the area of RCIA and Liturgy, most recently at the Cathedral of St. Mary in Colorado Springs, and for her fine work in hosting a very successful Study Week in 2002. She too deserves to have been acknowledged in this article.
