SALT LAKE CITY — Lillian Marie Heenan passed away on Nov. 16, 2011. Heenan was born Oct. 17, in Independence, Mo., to William E. and Birdie Crenshaw. She graduated from Kansas University nursing school. She then enlisted in the U.S. Army immediately after Pearl Harbor and took part in the North African and Italian campaigns, caring for injured soldiers. She married Peter J. Heenan in 1946 and was also a devout Catholic. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
