Local pastors to lead pilgrimages

Many priests in the Diocese of Salt Lake City regularly lead pilgrimages to various holy sites. Following are some of those that will take place this year.

Holy Land

pilgrimage with Father Erik Richtsteig, KCHS, pastor of Saint James the Just Parish, will be June 3 – 14. A few of the many sites will be the Jordan River, the Sea of Galilee, the Garden of Gethsemane, the Via Dolorosa to Calvary, and the Holy Sepulcher. The cost is $3,759, which includes airfare, hotels, daily Mass, breakfast and dinner daily, transportation, entrance fees, sightseeing. Italy and Medjugorje

with Father Javier G. Virgen, pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Magna, and Deacon Rick Huffman will be Oct. 19-29. Among the sites in Italy will be Rome, including an audience with Pope Francis, Assisi, San Giovanni Rotondo, Monte San Angelo and Lanciano. The last stop will be three days in Medjugorje for prayer and meditation. The pilgrimage will include daily Mass, morning and evening prayer and the recitation of the rosary. Ireland

Travel to Tuscany

with Father Bill Wheaton, pastor of Saint Pius X and Saint Joseph (Monticello) parishes. A 10-day tour to Tuscany, Italy, May 11-22. The tour includes Florence, Siena, Assisi, Montalcino and Pisa. For information, contact Fr. Wheaton, 435-259-5211.
