SALT LAKE CITY — Lydia Medel Doepner, 61, passed away May 23, 2013 after a battle with cancer. Doepner was born Feb. 3, 1952 in Los Angeles, Calif. She graduated cum laude from the University of Utah in 1974 and taught mostly first and second grade. Doepner was preceded in death by many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, father Albert, brother Daniel and granddaughter Angelita. Doepner is survived by mother Susan; twin sister Linda; brother Albert; husband Dave; children Jason, Christina, Daniel and Michael and 12 grandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
