SALT LAKE CITY — Manuel R. Curiel "Big Dog," 49, died Feb. 12.

Curiel was born Nov. 28, 1959, in Blythe, Calif., to Olegario and Simona Curiel. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan, who shared his passion with his friends and family. He loved taking walks, bike rides, visits to the park, watching movies after school, camping, fishing, and gardening.

He is survived by his wife Yvonne Martinez; son, Alejandro Curiel; children, Roseanna, Gabriela, Sabrina, Patricia, Joanna, Manuel, Jr., Emanuel; siblings, Eugenio, Paul (Grace), Lupe (Kathy), Juana, Edward, Jr. (Sharon), Juan, Mary (George) Davila, Fermin, and Trinidad; in-laws, Victor and Linda Martinez; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends, and best friend, Mike Herrera.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal was in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
