SALT LAKE CITY — Marie Alice Bertot, 92, passed away Feb. 26, 2012.

Bertot was born Dec. 6, 1919 to Leena and Santo Currire in Chicago, Ill. She married Emil Bertot Sr. on July 27, 1947.

Bertot was a devout Catholic and a member of Saint Francis Xavier Parish. She served as president of the Altar Society, was a member of the Legion of Mary, Infant of Prague and Ladies Crafts. She taught CCD for 15 years and received a five-year pin. With her friend Bella, she started St. Francis Preschool and was awarded the Pious X Medal for teaching in 1969.

Bertot was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers Marty and Joseph; daughter-in-law Kathy and grandson Andy.

She is survived by children Emil Jr. (Ruth), Ronald (Karen), Paulette (Kelly); eight grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
