OGDEN — Meagan Leonardi, a student at St. Joseph Catholic Middle School, was presented the Hope of Tomorrow Award by the Women’s Crisis Center of Ogden.

Meagan is in the eighth grade and has already shown she is a leader and mentor by serving as president of her class. She also is the co-captain of the basketball team, yearbook editor, and a soccer player. Each week she serves as a mentor for a third grade student.

Meagan accomplishes all of this and still maintains a GPA that keeps her on the high honor role. She believes you must stand up for yourself – even if you stand alone. "Never back down, and most importantly dream," she said. "If you don’t dream, you will never achieve success."

This is a very brave motto when faced with the peer pressure of middle school.

Meagan is very active in the community and gives back much to her fellow students. Without requesting money from those who normally donate, she orchestrated a project to raise funds to obtain new lockers for the students of St. Joseph. She was very successful and her legacy will be enjoyed for years to come.

Meagan is always friendly and smiling. She has courage, strength, and the steadfastness that will help her achieve success throughout her life. She plans to become an orthodontist and is well on her way to achieving every goal she sets. Megan embodies the true spirit of Hope of Tomorrow.
