SALT LAKE CITY — Michael L. Cook passed away Jan. 3, 2012.

Cook served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam era and was stationed in Dunedin, New Zealand, where he met Angela. They married in NZ 1968. He donated his body to the VA and they will be using his brain and spinal cord tissue for research to advance the cure for multiple sclerosis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Madeline Cook, and by his youngest sister, LeAnn Price.

Cook is survived by his wife; children Shayne (Karen), Kevin, Amy (John) and Stephanie (Justin); nine grandchildren; sisters Pat, Kathy, Debbie and LeAnn.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Thomas More Catholic Church.
