SALT LAKE CITY — In celebration of the Cathedral of the Madeleine’s centennial year in 2009, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square will open the annual Madeleine Festival of the Arts and Humanities with two historic concerts ("A Celebration of Sacred Song: The Mormon Tabernacle Choir") on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19 in the Cathedral of the Madeleine in Salt Lake City, both at 8 p.m. Like all festival events, these concerts will be free of admission charge and open to the public; however, due to anticipated high demand these concerts will be ticketed events. Information on how to request tickets is posted on the web at: http://www.saltlakecathedral.org/arts.php. Two guaranteed tickets will be provided to all "Friends of the Madeleine Festival" donors, and any remaining tickets (up to four maximum per request) will be distributed based on a random selection process of applications received by Feb. 28, 2009. Anyone desiring a concert ticket application who does not have internet access may obtain one during normal business hours from the cathedral office at 331 East South Temple Street in Salt Lake City.
