Notre Dame de Lourdes Parish Sponsors Angel Tree + Enlarge
By Special to the Intermountain Catholic

In 2015, with the support of Father Rafael Murillo, pastor, the Community Angel Tree for the Elderly was founded and sponsored by Notre Dame de Lourdes Parish. The first year, there were 63 ornaments on the tree. In 2016, local care centers were added, so the number of ornaments increased to 163. This year, with the addition of Emery County seniors, 369 ornaments adorn the tree. Shown are the gifts in just half of one room last year before they were delivered by parish and community volunteers. In the spirit of community giving, Notre Dame Parish, Ascension St. Matthew’s (Lutheran/Episcopal Fellowship), Assumption Greek Orthodox, various wards of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and several community organizations and businesses participate in the Angel Tree and spread the love of Jesus to those who are often forgotten.
