Mary Esmeralda Cordova

HERRIMAN — Mary Esmeralda Cordova, 85, died Nov. 14. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish.

Cordova was born Oct. 15, 1925, to Rosendo and Juanita L. Vasquez in Chamisal, N.M. She married Antonio J. Cordova in Chamisal, N.M., on Sept. 15, 1945. She was active in her parish in Copperton, loved to see her friends at the senior center and talked for countless hours with everyone on the phone. She also loved playing bingo, her trips to Wendover and spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by her children Ray (Rosa) Cordova, Lorraine (Felix) Alires, Johnny (Sue) Cordova, Jeanette (Daniel) King Cordova; daughters-in-law Debbie Corona and Julie Padilla; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sisters Magdelena Cordova and Juanita Roybal.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

Joseph M. Krella

SPRINGBORO, Ohio — Joseph M. Krella, 54, died Nov. 10, 2010, in Springboro, Ohio.

Krella was born in Schenectedy, N.Y., to Anna Krella and the late Joseph Krella. He was raised in Scranton, Penn. He was married to the former Catherine Graham, and they had just celebrated 31 years of marriage. He was a graduate of the University of Scranton and Marywood University. He was a well-known health care professional, most recently serving as president of the Utah Hospital Association. He was a FACHE member, and had many accomplishments throughout his career.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine; mother Anna Krella; three children Jennifer (Jonathan) Dunham, Joseph C. (Jaclynn) Krella and Matthew Krella of Sarasota; two grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, two brothers-in-law and a sister.

A Memorial Mass was celebrated at Saint Henry’s Catholic Church in Springboro Pike, Dayton, Ohio.

Helen Guymon

PRICE — Helen Guymon, 60, died at home after a six-year battle with breast cancer Nov. 17, 2010. She was a member of Notre Dame de Lourdes Parish.

She was born July 25, 1950, in Price to John and Mary Applehanz Pretiger. She married David Guymon on June 22, 1968, in Price. She worked for Eastern Utah Community Credit Union for many years.

Guymon was an excellent cook and loved to cook for family and friends. She operated Helen’s Catering Service for many years. She loved to yard sale and was a great Rockies fan and a Utah Jazz fan. Her favorite activity was watching her sons play sports.

She is survived by her husband David Guymon; sons Brent (Tabitha), Jason (Amy) and Jeremy; all of Salt Lake City; grandchildren Jasmine, Maxim, Cheyenne and Bailey; sisters Clara (Sherry) Rutherford, Marjorie Allred, Shirley (Franklin) Zupon, and Evelyn Pretiger, all of Price; and brother John Pretiger, Castle Dale.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. Committal was in the Price City Cemetery.

Ernest R. Mora

SALT LAKE CITY — Ernest R. Mora, 81, died Nov. 13, 2010.

Mora was born April 24, 1929, in Salt Lake City. He served in the U.S. Navy and after his discharge he was employed with Kennecott Copper Corporation for 37 years.

He married Ruth Roybal in 1954 and they shared 56 years together. He was very proud of his home, fixing things and enjoyed trips to Wendover with his wife and spending time with his grandchildren. He had a unique sense of humor. He loved his family very much and his kindness, understanding and compassion will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Ruth; son Michael (Monica); daughter Cindy (Don); daughter Kathy; son Paul (Annette); grandchildren Samantha, Jessica, Anthony, Dominic, Sammy, Joey and Sonia; sisters Della, Bardsley (Harold) and Jenny.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Interment was in Murray City Cemetery.

Christine Tezak Grant

SALT LAKE CITY — Christine Tezak Grant, 98, died Nov. 15, 2010. She was a member of Saint Vincent de Paul Parish.

Grant was born Aug. 10, 1912, in Sunnyside, Utah to Anton and Christina Logar Tezak, the fourth of nine children. She married Arthur Rollo Grant on Sept. 3, 1943, in Salt Lake City. She retired from Mountain Bell in September of 1969 after 31 years as a long-distance operator. She was a very devoted member of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites, the Legion of Mary, and a member of the Blue Army of Fatima. She was also a member of the Golden Club and the Vincentinos. She attended every First Friday Mass at Sacred Heart Parish and every First Saturday Mass whenever she could. The rest of her time was spent praying, watching EWTN and worrying about family members and friends. She was never without her rosary.

She is survived by her children Christine L. Sorenson, Vieno, Calif., and Arthur A. (Pamela) Grant, Murray; step-son Richard C. Grant, Midvale; grandchildren John Sorenson, Ann Marie White, Teresa Sorenson, Laura (Michael) Furtado, Mary Sorenson, Arthur "Tony" Grant, Jr., Jenifer (Chris) Dawes, Troy Grant, Sharee, Sean, Travis, Trevor and Michelle; 13 great-grandchildren; sister Helen Tezak and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Interment was in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
