Our Lady of Lourdes honors veterans

Marine Sgt. Major Nick Lopez visited the classrooms at Our Lady of Lourdes School and spoke to the students about his military experiences.

The students at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School celebrated Veterans’ Day with a Navy Honor Guard. The servicemen are stationed at the Naval Reserve Center, Salt Lake City. Their performance at the ceremony was outstanding. The students sat in awe as the servicemen entered the gym in formation and posted colors. After the students saluted the flag and sang "God Bless America" the servicemen dismissed. This was followed by bagels and coffee for veterans from many wars, including Marine Sgt. Major Nick Lopez (shown), who visited the classrooms and spoke to the students about their experiences.
