The Blessed Sacrament School Community of Caring Club partnered with Scholastic Books Reading Club and held a Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive. The Community of Caring Club members collected more than 45 sets of pajamas, ranging in size from newborn to adult. These pajamas will be donated to those in need at group homes, shelters, foster care facilities, and orphanages. Since 2009, Scholastic Books and caring children across the nation have donated more than 350,000 pairs of pajamas. For each pair of pajamas, Scholastic Books donates a book to complete the set. “I appreciate my daughter, Holland, having the opportunity to be a part of such a worthwhile and active club,” said Emily Hargis, whose daughter is in third grade at Blessed Sacrament School. “Not only is Holland reminded of the fact that there are many children and adults in need right in our local community, but core values of respect and caring are reinforced at each club meeting.  Holland reminds our family that it is important to care for others.” The Community of Caring Club is under the direction of Shelly Luna and Melodie Franco. The students meet twice a month and lead the students in a variety of activities that reinforce the five core values of caring, respect, responsibility, trust and family.
