Scouts Honor! Mateo Serrano, member of Troop #652 and parishioner of Christ the King Parish, was awarded Ad Altare Dei by Father Bob Bussen.

Soaring Eagles Abroad! Michelle Moynihan, a junior at Juan Diego CHS, will be serving a humanitarian mission in Guatemala. Mallory Leonard, a senior at Juan Diego CHS, will be serving a humanitarian mission in Cambodia. Kristen Shimkus, a sophomore at Juan Diego CHS and Jerly Alcala, a senior at Juan Diego CHS, will be serving a humanitarian mission in Peru.

Promotion! Maria del Mar Munoz-Visoso, assistant director of media relations at the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops since 2007, has been named executive director of the Secretariat for Cultural Diversity in the Church.

All Region Bulldogs! Jacob Gondrezick, MVP; Alex Mancini; Joe Cremer; and Patrick Neville, were all named to the 3A Region team for basketball.

Reaching for the Stars! Dionne Muyalde, a student at Cathedral High School in New York City, was a top-10 entry in the U.N. Office of Disarmament Poetry for Peace contest. She was the only U.S. high school student to place as a finalist.

Speed Racer! Taylor Schilly, a fifth-grade student at Kearns Saint Ann School and a member of Saint Ann Parish, placed second (J5) in both Halfpipe and Slopestyle in the USSA Freestyle Junior National Championships in Steamboat Springs, Colo. She also competed in the USSA Freestyle Intermountain divisional championships where she placed first (J5) in Moguls, first (J5) and third overall in Slopestyle, and second (J5) in Halfpipe.
