Golden Anniversary! Lonnie and Margaret Adkins, parishioners of Saint George Parish, celebrated their 50th anniversary on July 15.

Gathered in Prayer! Parishioners of Saint George Catholic Church prayed the rosary as they processed around the church to celebrate the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ on June 26. The Knights of Columbus formed an honor guard for Father Oscar Martin Picos, pastor, when he exited the church to join the procession. Four young men carried a canopy over Fr. Martin as he elevated the monstrance containing the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. At the conclusion of the procession, benediction of the Holy Sacrament followed.

Barred! Robert Mares, son of Blessed Sacrament parishioners Roger and Shirley Mares, was admitted to the California State Bar on June 30 in the court of Judge Christine Decker.

Stamp of Approval! Walter Borla, a member of Saint Anthony of Padua Parish, was honored at the recent state convention in Tooele of the Utah State Chapter of the National Association of Postmasters of the United States with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Published Honors! The Intermountain Catholic and Most Rev. John C. Wester took honors at Catholic Press Association Press Awards, taking second place in its circulation category for Best Editorial on a national or international issue and third place in its circulation category for Best Editorial on a local issue. Bishop Wester’s editorals, "New Arizona Law Highlights Need for Comprehensive Immigration Reform" and "Execution of Ronnie Lee Gardner Diminishes our Society," can both be found at www.icatholic.org.
