National A+! Jim Larson, a J.E. Cosgriff Memorial School teacher, has won the Presidential Award for Excellence in teaching middle school science education in the state of Utah. He is the first Catholic School employee in Utah to ever win this prestigious national award.

Spotlight Dance! Megan O’Brien, an incoming senior at Judge Memorial Catholic High School, has been awarded an apprenticeship with Divinity Dance, a professional dance company based in Salt Lake City.

Inspiring! Luke Puskedra, Judge Memorial CHS ’08, was presented with the Dow Wilson Inspirational Award in track and field at Oregon University.

Setting the Standards! Rhea Hristou, Saint Vincent de Paul School second-grade teacher, was selected as a representative on the National Curriculum Committee for the National Catholic Education Association. She will be working with colleagues from around the country on curriculum development.

Newly Appointed! Msgr. Robert J. Brennan, 50, a pastor and vicar general of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, New York, and Msgr. Nelson J. Perez, 50, a pastor in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, have been appointed by Pope Benedict XVI as auxiliary bishops for the Rockville Centre Diocese.
