Volunteer Abroad! Taylor Soinski, sophomore at Judge Memorial CHS, volunteered at the International Special Olympics in Korea Jan. 29-Feb. 5.

Design Master! Laura Horton, Judge Memorial CHS Class of ’10, now studying at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, recently claimed first place in the annual poster contest that supports the Annual Croquet Ball. 

Read All About It! Speaking Eagle, Juan Diego CHS’ newspaper, took third place in the overall newspaper design category of the Utah Rocky Mountain High School Mediafest.

Other award winners: Senior Kelsey Watnes, third place for sports feature story; and

Sophomore Rachel Kuhr, first place for news article (scholarship included in award), third place for personality profile and third place in feature story.

Smart Strokes! Emily Murnin, senior at Judge Memorial CHS, has earned recognition from the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association of America with the status of Academic All-American. 

Defend and Strike! Alex Jensen, Judge Memorial CHS Class of ’13, has been selected to play for the University of Utah’s Men’s Soccer Team as RS Mid.

Go Bulldogs! Alyssa Brusatto, first baseman and senior at Juan Diego CHS, signed a letter to attend Fisk University in Nashville on full-ride academic and athletic scholarships.

Creative Arts! Three Judge Memorial CHS seniors have been recognized with a Regional Award in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards of 2013. They are:

Senior Reid Bell, honorable mention award for his art portfolio;

Senior Zoe Deniston, honorable mention award in poetry for her poem Real.

Senior Gabrielle Savchuk, honorable mention for her drawing titled Broken Tine.

Community Leader!

Brady Stout, senior at Judge Memorial CHS, has been recognized with a 2013 Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship.

Future Therapists! Juanita Horn and Coltin Dennis, seniors at Juan Diego CHS, were awarded scholarships from Registered Physical Therapist.
