Sworn in! The Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (DCCW) installed its new officers and deanery presidents at the DCCW Convention in April. The new officers and deanery presidents are:

DCCW President: Amy Kennedy (Cathedral of the Madeleine Parish)

First Vice President/President-Elect: Bonnie Siegrist (Blessed Sacrament Parish)

Second Vice President: Marcie Downs (Saint Olaf Parish)

Secretary: Angelita Florez (Saint Francis Xavier Parish)

Treasurer: Kathy Fazio (Christ the King Parish)

Eastern Deanery President: Marsha Murphy (Saint Helen Parish)

Northern Deanery President: Joan Erickson (Saint Mary Parish – Ogden)

Salt Lake Deanery President: Maureen Malley (Saint Patrick Parish)

Wasatch Deanery President: Jeanne Audiss (Saint Joseph the Worker Parish)

Southwestern Deanery Representative: Marie Hartry (Christ the King Parish)

Gracias! Collection for the Church in Latin America thanks the Diocese of Salt Lake City for the donation in the amount of $31,655.97.

A Class Act! Blessed Sacrament Catholic School is among the 20 public schools, three private schools, one charter school and one school district named as 2012 National Schools of Character by the Character Education Partnership.

Gold Cup! Pontifical North American College (Rome) seminarians took home the champion’s title in the Clericus Cup soccer series. The NAC Martyrs beat last year’s champions, the Pontifical Gregorian University, 3-0, in the final playoff May 12.

Great Stride! Bishop Thomas J. Paprocki, of Springfield, Ill., has been named Life Runner of the Year by the national Life Runners board of directors. Bishop Paprocki serves as national chaplain for the organization, and has completed 18 marathons, including the 2011 Kansas City Waddell Reed Marathon in which he ran as part of a 170-member Life Runners team.
