A Golden Moment! Carl and Mary Chidester, parishioners of St. Anthony of Padua parish in Helper, celebrated the 50th anniversary of their wedding on Dec. 9.

Representing! Kendrick Nafus and Nicole Gist, both sophomores at Judge Memorial CHS, were selected as the 2012 Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership program (HOBY) Seminar Ambassadors.

Top 10 Finish! Luke Puskedra, Judge Memorial CHS class of ‘08 and senior at University of Oregon, finished sixth in the NCAA Division I men’s national cross country championship, earning his ninth All-American title.

High Scoring! Noel Hollingsworth, Judge Memorial CHS class of ‘08 and a pre-season All-American pick for MIT, was named the NEWMAC player of the week as he averaged 22 points and 10 rebounds per game in their first three wins.

Top Workplace! Catholic Relief Services (CRS) was named one of 75 top workplaces in Baltimore by the "Baltimore Sun," ranking eighth in a field of 20 mid-sized companies.

Front Page! Elizabeth Goldsmith, a freshman at Judge Memorial CHS, wrote an article titled Words Hurt, which was selected to be featured on the front page of TeenInk.com’s opinion, Hot Topics/What Matters page in November 2011.

Poet Master! Adam Koblanski, a fourth-grader at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic School, took second place in "The Salt Lake Tribune" haiku poetry contest about Jell-o. His poem follows.

Jell-o blows my mind

But it is sassy to me
