Editors Note! Anthony Fratto Oyler, president of the Judge Memorial CHS Class of 2012, received a scholarship from the Salt Lake Tribune that honored graduating seniors who have excelled as leaders in journalism.

In Memoriam! Monsignor Walter Ziemba, who helped introduce the future Pope John Paul II to Polish-Americans and helped him to know them, died June 8 at age 85. His funeral Mass was celebrated June 12 at the Shrine Chapel of Our Lady of Orchard Lake.

Top of Class! Kristen Linsmeier, Juan Diego CHS Class of 2010 and Saint Thomas More parishioner, made the Dean’s List at Gonzaga University.

Cradling to the Top! Chelsea Farrell, Judge Memorial CHS Class of 2009 and a senior at Westminster College, was named to the U.S. Lacrosse Women’s Collegiate Lacrosse Associates (WCLA) Division II First Team All-American. She was also named WCLA’s D-II Attack Player of the Year.

Top Form! Judge Memorial CHS’ Cheer Squad earned an "Excellent" ribbon and a "Superior" for both Cheer and Chant at the 2012 Cheer Camp, and also received an invitation to the National Cheer Squad Competitions. They were awarded two Spirit Sticks, one of which is a permanent award for the school in recognition of outstanding work at camp. Senior Aubrey Ham was awarded the "Pass It On, Cheer Spirit Pin" for demonstrating leadership, commitment, motivation, kindness and spirit. Seniors Aubrey Ham, Isabelle Bean and Kylie Petron were all nominated to try out for the All-American National Cheerleaders.

Top Form! Helen Osman, secretary for communications at the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, is the winner of the Catholic Press Association’s 2012 St. Francis de Sales Award.
