Paul William Burchell

SALT LAKE CITY — Paul William Burchell, 79, passed away on Jan. 11, 2013.

Burchell was born to James and Ivana Burchell in Butte, Mont. on Aug. 22, 1933. He married Marilyn Dolan on June 11, 1955. He graduated from the Montana School of Mines in 1956 with a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering. He served as president of the Utah Geophysics Society and the Intermountain Association of Geologists.

Burchell is survived by his wife, Marilyn; children Terri Maynard, William Burchell, Paula Purkeypile and Pam Harris; brother Dan Burchell; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church
