SALT LAKE CITY— Pete R. Chavez, 46, passed away Jan. 21, 2013. Chavez was born in La Jara, Colo. to Belma Medina and Felix Chavez. Chavez is survived by William Lane, mother Belma Bejarano; sisters Annabelle Valencia, Sharon Chavez, Wendy Chavez, and June Estrada; and brothers Marc Chavez and Dale Roybal. Chavez was preceded in death by his father, Felix Chavez; great-grandfather Elfigo Chavez; grandfather Rubel Medina; grandmother Celina Medina; niece Endelicia Gallegos, grandmother Fidelia Chavez and uncle Gilbert Chavez. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
