Resources for victims of domestic violence in Utah

• In Utah, one in three women will experience domestic abuse in her lifetime.

• According to the Utah Domestic Violence Coalition, more than 40 percent of adult homicides in Utah since 2000 have been domestic violence-related.

• Each year approximately 80 children in Utah witness the murder or attempted murder of their mother.

• A recent survey shows that 86 percent of Utah women believe domestic violence is a problem in their communities, and 63 percent believe violence against women is increasing. (Source; Utah Women and Leadership Project: Utah Women Stats)

Several organizations in Utah provide free, confidential support and resources.

Twenty Utah organizations in 16 cities provide help and support for victims of domestic violence.
