Ronald R. Hazel

SALT LAKE CITY — Ronald Richard Hazel, 71, passed away on June 13, 2015 due to complications from juvenile diabetes.

Hazel was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on Sept. 8, 1943 to Mary and Ronald Hazel. He married Laura Farrell on May 8, 1965. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. He graduated from Voorhees Technical Institute and attended the New York Institute of Technology, where he majored in mechanical engineering. 

Hazel is survived by his wife, son Richard (Kori) Hazel, daughter Peggy (Scott) Jerome, five grandsons, sister Kathleen (Robert) Slater, and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Mary. 

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church.
