Pete Espil, a professional youth minister from Tennessee, inspired those present at the annual Bishop's Dinner for Scouters and Clergy on April 11 to see scouting as a youth ministry. He challenged leaders to build relationships with young people as a way of creating lifelong followers of Christ. The dinner is a thank you to priests, scout leaders and parents who participate in the scouting programs in diocesan parishes and also serves as a recruiting tool to establish new scouting units.
