In recognition of Veterans Day, Saint John the Baptist students at undertook projects to honor the men and women in the United States armed forces. Middle school students wrote letters of gratitude to veterans; all of the cards were arranged in the school’s gathering space to honor their service. A few days afterward, the notes were taken down and hand-delivered to the Veterans Administration hospital in Salt Lake City, the Fisher House and the Valor House. Kindergarten students heard a presentation about the meaning of Veterans Day and the sacrifices members of the armed forces make to help keep the nation safe. Each kindergartener then made a soldier, complete with military fatigues and boots. A few even had lipstick.
