The new L.S. Skaggs Pavilion at St. Joseph Catholic High School was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting on Aug. 5. The pavilion, complete with a kitchen, covered seating area and bathrooms, and new turf for the adjacent soccer field will allow the school “to host tournaments, create usable practice space for all of our teams that was denied to us previously, and offer a hosting space for boosters, alumni, students and community events,” said Principal Clay Jones at the ribbon-cutting, which was attended by Utah Catholic Schools Superintendent Mark Longe and other dignitaries, including alumni and the mascot of the Real Salt Lake professional soccer team. Funding for the pavilion came from the ALSAM Foundation and other donors, including the school’s Athletic Boosters and the Classes of 1967 and 1968.
