The Sewing Angels group at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Layton and members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 27th Ward in Clinton got together at St. Rose for a day of sewing and lunch on Oct. 13. This is the second time these women have gotten together. They sewed blankets, bibs, burp cloths, nightgowns and teddy bears. A few of the women also made special dresses for stillborn babies, which will be donated to the Neonatal Intensive Care Units at Davis Hospital, McKay Dee Hospital and Ogden Regional Medical Center. The other items will be donated to Catholic Community Services (St. Martha’s Baby Project), Ogden Regional Medical Center and the Pregnancy Care Center. The women also made pillow cases and Smiley Bags for the Christmas Box House, for children to put their clothes in when they leave to go to foster homes. A couple of the men and some of the women also worked on making hats for the homeless.
