Technology changes underway at Intermountain Catholic + Enlarge

Technology updates at the Intermountain Catholic are underway, resulting in a number of changes to better serve the Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City.

Starting Sunday, the Internet streaming of the 11 a.m. Cathedral of the Madeleine Mass in English and the 3 p.m. Mass in Spanish will be on hiatus while we explore alternate methods of broadcasting them. Currently the Masses are taped and streamed over the Internet. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Our website is being redesigned and we hope to have the new version in place by the end of the summer. One change has already taken place: The Most Rev. John C. Wester, bishop of Salt Lake, has a regular blog online at www.icatholic.org. On the home page, you'll see an icon labeled Tuesday Tapestry - click on that to go to the bishop's blog.

We also now are on Twitter at icatholicnews. Twitter is a free service that allows us to send short, timely messages about what's happening throughout the diocese. To sign up for Twitter, visit twitter.com, then ask to follow icatholicnews. The messages (called tweets) are sent to your email or as a text message to your cell phone. This is a free service but normal text message fees do apply if you don't have unlimited texting.
