The Most Rev. John C. Wester, Bishop of Salt Lake City (right), blesses a Theotokos icon that was presented to Dr. Juliana Boerio-Goates, immediate past president of the Diocesan Pastoral Council, in recognition of her service. The DPC’s current president, Deacon Jack Clark (center), made the presentation at the March 24 council meeting. To the back of the icon, Deacon Clark attached a poem that he wrote titled ‘Vladimir Mother of God – Theotokos.’ The poem reads: ‘Two human faces looking on. To each other, each is drawn. Each to the other "I am that you should be." Both cleave for the sake of Holy Deity, for salvation of all humanity."’
